What to make of these loans? On one hand you want to have sympathy towards the folks who are about to foreclose and raise an angry fist at the banks and loaning agencies. On the other hand you want to slap these folks who are taking these risky loans because its their choice. Its not like the banks are waving a gun at their heads and telling them they MUST sign the loan. Also wasn't there an argument BEFORE this crisis from coalition groups for minorities BITCHING about how its unfair for minorities with low income to obtain loans? So what do the banks do? They try and please this group and for the longest time no one complained. And now because of this crisis these same groups are bitching again how its unfair practice by these banks to give risky loans to high risk borrowers. WTF? Can I say hypocrits? Where were they DURING the "golden period"? Why weren't they raising their concerns THEN? Of course they didn't. They were just as happy for this opportunity for minorities to obtain houses. So for me, I lean more towards the side of the banks. These people made a decision based on choices given by banks. They didn't have to buy a house. Everyone has a brain they should use it. Banks are there to PROVIDE the service if asked for. Provide isn't the same as forcing the service. Well that's my 2 cents.
Halo...maybe someday I'll buy a Xbox and play the game but in the meantime I've been reading the novels and its been a great source of entertainment so far. One thing though I'm still not sure yet how I feel is that it seems to copy a lot of substance from "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card. In my opinion, "Ender's Game" is the best science fiction novel I've ever read. Its like the Lord of the Rings version of sci-fi. Basically its about John who was selected to be part of a program of super soldier's code named, "Spartans" (go figure that lately I've been exposed to so much Greek history about Spartans, first it was 300 then God of War 2 and now this). They basically changed these kids genetic makeup enough to make them super humans, 5x stronger and faster then the normal human. John eventually goes on to become the "Master Chief" that we see in the Xbox game from what I've gathered since he's the last surviving Spartan left.
At first they were created to battle the rebellion but then the Aliens came and attacked. The first book the aliens finally attacked and destroyed the Human's main military compound and shipyard and the crew of Captain Keye's and the Master Chief took off trying to shake pursuers. The AI computer onboard figured out a code that they stole from the Aliens and took a guess to where they should be going and they came upon "Halo". Halo is what you would call a artificial planet. But its not spherical at all. Its shaped exactly like a Halo. Think of a donut and you have yourself the planet Halo. I guess from what I've read so far, this planet was built by a long lost ancient alien race. There is something "special" about this planet that the Aliens are trying to find out but the crew crash landed on the planet and I'm at the point where they are just bunkering down and Captain Keyes was taken prisoner by the aliens.
Unlike movie sequels, game sequels tend to actually live up to their names and are quite enjoyable to play. Sometimes more so then the original game. God of War 2 didn't surpass the first one but neither did it fall short. In the first game you are fighting against Aries the God of War. In the end you vanquish Aries and you become the God of War. In part 2, Zeus betrays you and steals your Godly powers and you are on a mission to battle Zeus. All the while the Gaiea, one of the Titans is helping you out as much as she can (mostly words of wisdom). The game play is similar to the first, lots of blood and gore. Graphics are awesome as can the first. Basically pure, unedited high testosterone game! I love it! I don't know if it was coincidence or what, but the game came out almost the same time as 300. Both are about a Spartan. Interesting eh?
Oh and its FRIDAY! Got lots to do this weekend. Gotta put together my new patio set that I purchased about oh...4 WEEKS ago. lol But they were dumb and didn't provide the hardware (nuts and bolts) to go with it so I had to call the manufacturing company up and asked them to send me a hardware set for my specific patio set. It got to my house about a week later. Weather still sucks though to use it. Next week for payday I'll buy a hot tub/spa kit to get my hot tub up and running. I'll probably use it for once since I've bought the house 2.5 years ago. My sister will probably like it if she ever comes out (yes she's REALLY lazy about driving).
My friend Indy I believe has been in that same state as Rocky. He's lost even though he probably won't admit it. He had a divorce back in October and ever since then he's been chasing one girl after another trying to fill a void. I believe he's the type of person who "needs" a constant companion yet even he doesn't know what he really wants in this "companion". He tries to reason with me how much fun he's having to mask the loneliness and immorality. I've tried to explain what I see sometimes in subtle ways and sometimes not but he refuses to listen and continues with his antics. I'm to the point now where it just doesn't matter anymore since I've given my advice and opinion and he doesn't listen so why bother right? I believe he's been lost for quite sometimes now. Even back during our childhood he has always tried to be somebody else. He's never really been "Jimmy" but rather "Indy" or a personification of what he thinks someone wants him to be. When he was dating and married to Chloe he wanted to be a Lawyer and a politician. Now that he's no longer with her, his ambition for being a politician and a lawyer has faded. When he met another girl who was a lawyer who loved music, his passion for music came back again after its died for 3 years. His workouts have been great when he's been single but whenever he gets back into a relationship that tendency to stay healthy and in shape diminishes. Nothing is ever done for the sake of "Jimmy" but for his significant other.
Its a sad situation all in all. I believe people need to find a fine medium. You have to do things for yourself but sometimes for other people as well when in a relationship. You can't lose yourself and let yourself be absorbed by the other person but neither should you ignore the other person and try to grow with each other. Well we'll see what happens.
99% of the time, novels seldom are as good in the big screen. Eragon was no exception. It sucked. It was the type of movie you would watch on the Sci-Fi channel. I am really surprised how it even made it to the big screen at all. It took away half the content that was in the novel and I don't want to even get into the acting job.
300 though was a much better movie. I like to compare it to Braveheart even though it doesn't have the richness that Braveheart has. The blood and gore was no different then what you would see in Braveheart but there was much more sexual content in 300. Plus is helps that I really enjoy Greek history. I was a bit surprised that they didn't have Athens in the story because Athens and Sparta were the biggest cities and of course had the bloodiest and most intense rivalry. I believe it was one of the epic battles between Sparta and Athens that create the Olympics games when I believe a Sparta warrior had to run 30 miles back to Sparta to bring news about the battle.
In another good news I have a job interview with the City of Puyallup working as a Permit Technician. The job location is LITERALLY 5 minutes from where I live. Its been 7 years since I last worked so close to home. It'll be a very nice change from the morning and evening commute from Puyallup to Seattle even though the train has helped out tremendously in that ordeal.
My achilles also seems to be feeling much better. I can actually do a light job and light jumping on my left foot now. Its a pain having to work it out a little everyday. Its hard to remind myself that I have to do it since I tend to forget things like that when I don't feel it. But so far so good. I believe I'll be ready to play some softball when the season starts. I probably can't do big sprints or anything but enough to be of some use.
